Job summary

Fulton Hogan in Auckland is seeking experienced Project Engineers to join the Complex Civils & Structures team. You will work on reinforced concrete structures, bridges, treatment plants, and pipelines across major infrastructure projects from design through delivery.

Ideal candidates bring 5 years of heavy civil experience, strong budgeting and programming skills, and excellent communication. The role offers ongoing training, career growth, and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (NZQF Level 7+) is required.
• 5 years' experience with Structures / Heavy Civil works is preferred.
• Portfolio includes reinforced concrete, bridges or treatment plants & pipelines delivery.
• Proven experience in programming and budgeting is desirable.
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the teams and subcontractors within your area, coordinating across teams for resource optimisation.
• Plan execution and develop construction methodology for all works.
• Provide monthly forecast of cost to complete to the commercial manager and progress to planners.
• Provide on-site technical advice and resolve issues as they arise.
• Maintain safe, tidy sites and support development of management systems and compliance.
• Monitor expenses, process invoices and contribute to financial reporting.
• Undertake regular site inspections to ensure safety, environmental and quality standards.

We're looking for Project Engineers to join our Complex Civils & Structures team in Auckland, working on some of the region's most exciting infrastructure projects.

This is a great role for an experienced engineer who enjoys variety, technical challenge and seeing work move from plan to delivery. You'll work across reinforced concrete and heavy civil infrastructure projects, helping bridge the gap between design, planning and construction.

This diverse portfolio, will include work in the following areas:

• Bridges, retaining walls, piling and complex structural works
• Underpasses and transport structures, level crossings
• Major infrastructure projects such as Papakura to Drury, Penlink and upcoming water infrastructure projects
• Wastewater treatment plants, pump stations and complex pipelines

If you bring strong experience delivering reinforced concrete structures, we're keen to hear from you.

Key role responsibilities

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering at NZQF Level 7+
• Have 5 years' experience with Structures / Heavy Civil experience
• Have a portfolio that includes strongly in reinforced concrete, bridges or/and treatment plants and pipelines delivery
• Hold proven experience in programming and managing budgets
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills
