Stantec is recruiting for a Project Delivery Lead in the Hawke's Bay region to partner with Hastings District Council. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams across Water, Transport and Community Development to deliver high-quality outcomes on time and within budget.

This role emphasizes building trusted client relationships, mentoring staff, and contributing to proposals while aligning delivery standards across centres.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years' experience in engineering or project management.
• Strong client relationship development and project delivery skills.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage risks.

Responsibilities

About the role :

Due to ongoing success and additional work from the Hastings District Council, we are looking for a Project Delivery Lead to join our team. This role is about more than project delivery, it's about building trusted relationships with our client, working collaboratively with our people, and bringing teams together to deliver high quality outcomes on time and within budget.

Day to day tasks would involve:

• Building long term collaborative relationships within Stantec and Hastings District Council
• Working across business centres to align delivery standards as the panel covers both Water, Transport and Community Development projects.
• In conjunction with local team leads, ensure that the team has appropriate skills and experience for current and future projects
• Develop and mentor staff in key delivery processes and procedures.
• Assist team leads with workload forecasting and resource planning
• Liaise regularly with project managers and project technical leads to provide updates to Hastings District Council, highlighting any known delivery risks to projects and the overall programme
• In a lead project manager or design manager capacity ensure that project outcomes meet or exceed the client's expectations
• Contribute to proposal and bid development to support business development activities.

To be successful in this role you’ll need:

• Understand the different phases of projects and be able to make informed quality business decisions.
• To be a good role model for the team and motivate employees to perform to high standards.
• At least 10 years' experience in Engineering or Project Management with good client relationship development and project delivery skills.
