Job summary

Stantec's Buildings team in New Zealand is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our high performing group. You will work on projects from feasibility and design through to construction, commissioning, and operation, with emphasis on data centres, health, laboratories, and infrastructure.

You will support the wider Mechanical team by providing technical expertise across project sizes and engage in budgeting, proposals, and client communications to drive positive outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Experience across project sizes from low rise to high rise building projects.
  • Mechanical engineering background with knowledge across mechanical disciplines such as HVAC, hydraulics, fire and sustainability in buildings.
  • Ability to produce calculations, specifications, and drawings with guidance from senior staff.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site surveys, field investigations and feasibility studies for proposed projects
  • Produce calculations, specifications, and drawings (concept, preliminary, developed and detailed designs), proposals, and reports to ensure that technical content will provide the appropriate solution, with guidance and input provided from more experienced staff
  • Maintain communication and develop ongoing contacts with clients as required
  • Contribute to proposal and bid development to support business development activities, including preparing proposal material, and fee estimates as required
  • Engage in providing budgeting and revenue expenditure input, and understand impact of work practices on the financial outcome of projects

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our high performing team. We are ideally seeking a highly qualified candidate with experience across all project sizes from low rise to high rise building projects. We are involved in a broad range of project types that include data centres, health, laboratories, industrial, education and infrastructure. You will support the wider Mechanical team by providing technical expertise that drive positive project outcomes.

Day to day tasks would involve:

  • Conduct site surveys, field investigations and feasibility studies for proposed projects
