Job summary

Stantec, a global leader in sustainable engineering and environment consulting, is seeking a Project Delivery Lead in the Hawke’s Bay region. The role focuses on building trusted client relationships, coordinating across centres for Water, Transport and Community Development projects, and delivering high-quality outcomes on time and within budget.

You will mentor staff, forecast workloads, manage resources, and contribute to proposals while aligning with delivery standards.

Qualifications

• Ten years' plus experience in Engineering or Project Management with strong client relationships and delivery skills.
• Ability to build long-term collaborative relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Strong mentoring, leadership and resource planning capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Build long-term collaborative relationships with Stantec and Hastings District Council.
• Coordinate across business centres to align delivery standards for Water, Transport and Community Development projects.
• Ensure team has skills and experience for current and future projects with local leads.
• Develop and mentor staff in delivery processes.
• Assist with workload forecasting and resource planning.
• Provide regular updates to Hastings District Council on progress and risks.
• Lead project management or design management to meet client expectations.
• Contribute to proposals and bid development.

Due to ongoing success and additional work from the Hastings District Council, we are looking for a Project Delivery Lead to join our team. This role is about more than project delivery, it's about building trusted relationships with our client, working collaboratively with our people, and bringing teams together to deliver high quality outcomes on time and within budget.

Day to day tasks would involve:

• Building long term collaborative relationships within Stantec and Hastings District Council
• Working across business centres to align delivery standards as the panel covers both Water, Transport and Community Development projects.
• In conjunction with local team leads, ensure that the team has appropriate skills and experience for current and future projects
• Develop and mentor staff in key delivery processes and procedures.
• Assist team leads with workload forecasting and resource planning
• Liaise regularly with project managers and project technical leads to provide updates to Hastings District Council, highlighting any known delivery risks to projects and the overall programme
• In a lead project manager or design manager capacity ensure that project outcomes meet or exceed the client's expectations
• Contribute to proposal and bid development to support business development activities.

To be successful in this role you'll need:

• Understand the different phases of projects and be able to make informed quality business decisions.
• To be a good role model for the team and motivate employees to perform to high standards.
• At least 10 years' experience in Engineering or Project Management with good client relationship development and project delivery skills.
