Job summary

Pinnacle MHN in Waikato seeks a programme support – child health to help deliver immunisation outreach and B4SC services across the region, working with immunisation outreach nurses and whānau.

You will maintain records, coordinate service administration, support communication and follow-up, and help ensure equitable health outcomes for tamariki and whānau. This fixed-term role is 32 hours per week, with a focus on community engagement and data skills.

Qualifications

  • Current full driver’s licence.
  • First aid certificate.
  • Experience working with whānau and communities in health or social services.
  • Minimum 2 years in customer service; primary health care exposure preferred.
  • Experience with databases / data entry skills.
  • High accuracy and strong written and verbal communication.
  • Passionate about tamariki health.
  • Inclusive of all cultures; Tikanga Māori & Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • High integrity; confidentiality.
  • Proficient with Office 365 and video conferencing (Teams/Zoom).

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a programme support – child health to join our Waikato team, supporting the delivery of child health programmes across the region with a primary focus on immunisation outreach and before school check (B4SC) services.

Working alongside immunisation outreach nurses, you will engage directly with tamariki and whānau in community settings, building trusted relationships and supporting access to services that improve health outcomes. Through a whānau-centred and culturally responsive approach, you will help remove barriers to care, provide practical support, and enable whānau to make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing.

You will also provide programme support to ensure the effective day-to-day operation of child health services — maintaining accurate records, supporting communication and follow-up activities, coordinating service administration, and contributing to the efficient delivery of child health programmes.

Working collaboratively with clinical, operational and community partners, you will help improve engagement with services and support equitable health outcomes for tamariki and whānau.

This is a fixed term role until 30 June 2027, working 32 hours per week.

About You

  • Current full driver's licence.
  • First aid certificate.
  • Experience working with whānau and communities in a health or social services setting.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in customer service, and preferably some previous exposure to the primary health care environment.
  • Experience working with databases and/or strong data entry skills.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail, with excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passionate about providing quality health services that meet the needs of tamariki, young people and their whānau.
  • Inclusive of all cultures, with a commitment to Tikanga Māori and an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • High level of integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality, with an open-minded, adaptive attitude.
  • Proficient in using Office 365 products and competent using video conferencing (e.g. Teams and Zoom).
