Job summary

The Ministry of Justice – New Zealand invites applications for a Programme Manager to lead the cross‑sector Victims Work Programme in Wellington. You will draw on programme management, service design and policy experience to ensure high‑quality advice and business-case products for key decision-makers, with people management responsibilities.

This fixed-term/secondment role leads a cross-sector team and requires building trusted relationships with senior leaders.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large, complex programmes or projects, ideally cross-sector.
• Confident interaction with senior leaders and ministers; trusted reporting on progress toward outcomes.
• Leading development and review of public sector business cases.
• Experience in a justice sector agency or in organisations that interact with the justice sector.
• Service design within an organisational, operational and regulatory setting.
• Knowledge of public sector funding mechanisms and legislative processes.
• People leadership including recruitment, capability building and performance management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the cross-sector team to deliver real change for victims.
• Ensure programme advice and business-case products are consistently high quality.
• Build trusted relationships with Decision-makers to guide investment decisions.
• Provide regular reporting on progress toward programme outcomes and deliverables.
