Job summary

Department of Corrections NZ seeks a Programme Manager for the Christchurch Men's Prison Redevelopment Programme. This fixed-term role through to 30 March 2030 is based in Christchurch and largely site-based, with travel to partners.

You will help lead a large-scale infrastructure programme, align workstreams, manage risks, budgets and timelines, and provide governance-ready advice. Working with senior leaders and delivery partners, you will help realise a safe, secure, fit-for-purpose custodial

Qualifications

• Experience delivering major infrastructure or capital works programmes.
• Ability to lead across multiple workstreams and keep teams aligned.
• Strong judgment and practical risk management.
• Experience advising senior leaders and governance groups.
• Comfort operating in complex environments with evolving plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the Christchurch Men's Prison redevelopment programme.
• Partner with the Programme Director to manage delivery, risks, budgets and timelines.
• Prepare governance input and reports for decision-making.
• Engage stakeholders and delivery partners across multiple phases.
• Ensure design through to operational readiness is integrated and on track.
