Job summary

The Ministry of Justice in Wellington is seeking a Senior Advisor to join Operations Support, National Service Delivery. You will support frontline operations and work on service improvement and innovative programmes.

Ideal candidate is agile, with strong stakeholder management, capable of analysing legislation and delivering projects, with experience in government machinery and cross-cultural awareness.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret complex documents including legislation and financial data.

• Excellent verbal and written communication and analytical skills.

• Experience in delivering projects from problem definition to solution.

Responsibilities

• Prioritise and manage stakeholder requests across functions.
• Define problems, plan and deliver effective solutions.
• Provide advice on proposed legislative changes and impacts on NSD.
• Build relationships with NSD leadership, OSD, OCOS, and Policy.
• Prepare briefing papers and memorandums to support decisions.
• Support implementation projects delivering government law and order initiatives.
• Contribute to a busy legislative work programme.
• Provide peer-to-peer mentoring within the team.
