Job summary

Clough Limited in Christchurch is seeking a Health & Safety Director to lead all safety and wellbeing activities for the Christchurch Men's Prison Redevelopment Project. Based in Templeton, you will develop safety strategy, drive culture, and ensure governance across a tier-one infrastructure programme.

You will manage safety teams, coordinate with consortium partners, client and regulators, and implement initiatives that embed safety into planning and delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience leading safety functions on major infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of NZ health and safety legislation and governance frameworks.
• Proven ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated capability to balance risk management with project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of the Health & Safety strategy for the project.
• Provide visible leadership to project teams and foster a proactive safety culture.
• Drive continuous safety improvements and workforce wellbeing initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with NZ legislation, contractual requirements and standards.
• Oversee safety governance, reporting and assurance across the project.
