Greater Wellington seeks an experienced Programme Leader to drive the ICT Strategy and oversee the associated budget from its central Wellington office. You will lead the Strategy Delivery team, ensuring delivery excellence across complex ICT programmes in a SAFe environment.

We're looking for an experienced programme leader to join our collaborative ICT Portfolio & Programme team. This full-time position is fixed term until June 2028 and is based in our central Wellington office.
The ICT Portfolio & Programme team manages Greater Wellington's ICT portfolio and delivery programmes. The team supports effective investment decision-making through portfolio governance and prioritisation while enabling modern delivery practices across cross-functional teams using SAFe.
Reporting to the Manager Portfolio & Programme, you will drive the implementation of Greater Wellington's ICT Strategy and manage the associated strategy budget. You will provide leadership across strategy execution, budget management, initiative planning, delivery oversight and benefits realisation, helping ensure ICT investments deliver measurable value and support organisational objectives.
You will maintain the ICT Strategy implementation plan, roadmap and delivery schedule; monitor initiatives, milestones, expenditure, benefits, risks and dependencies; and drive corrective action where delivery is off track. You will provide clear reporting and advice to ICT leadership and ELT, support business cases and investment proposals, and guide strategic alignment, sequencing, prioritisation and funding decisions.
You will build trusted relationships across ICT and the wider organisation and lead the Strategy Delivery team members, creating a strong focus on accountability, delivery and continuous improvement.

The total remuneration for this position, including all benefits, is $136,880 to $205,319 per annum, with a midpoint of $171,099. Starting remuneration will depend on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
