Recruit IT in Wellington is seeking an experienced Technical Programme Delivery Lead to drive a multi-workstream technology transformation for a banking client. You will oversee end-to-end delivery across build, migrate, sell, with an enablement stream, and report progress to executives.

The role demands hands-on experience in event-driven architecture and integration platforms, with strong banking domain knowledge and the ability to onboard quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proven programme-level delivery of complex, multi-workstream technology programmes.
• Depth in integration projects and ability to discuss technical detail with domain leads.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and integration platforms.
• Banking/financial services experience, ideally core system transformation.
• Strong executive-level stakeholder communication and programme forum representation.
• Ability to ramp up quickly and add value from day one.
• Experience across transformation programmes with multiple delivery partners or vendors is advantageous.
• Cloud-based delivery environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client in the banking sector is well into a multi-year core technology transformation and needs an experienced Technical Programme Delivery Lead to lead technical delivery. The programme has recently reorganised around three product workstreams that own the end-to-end journey through build, migrate and sell, alongside an enablement workstream. This is complex, high-pace delivery with minimal onboarding. You will need to bring structure and pace from week one.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery across the product and enablement workstreams
• Coordinate tight sequencing across multiple dependent technical domains
• Maintain a clear, accurate view of true delivery status, not reported status
• Work in the detail with domain leads to test and strengthen their delivery plans
• Improve delivery flow, governance and decision-making inside an established model, practically and constructively
• Surface the risks and dependencies others miss, early enough to act on them
• Represent the programme at executive level and across programme forums
• Keep the why, the critical dates and the key messages front of mind for delivery teams

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience at a programme level delivering complex, multi-workstream technology programmes
• Strong technical software delivery background, with genuine depth in integration projects and the ability to hold your own in technical detail with domain leads
• Hands-on exposure to event-driven architecture and integration platforms
• Deep banking or financial services experience, ideally on core system transformation
• Strong executive-level stakeholder communication and programme forum representation
• Ability to build context fast and add value with minimal ramp-up
• A practical, "how can we" approach to problem-solving
• Experience across transformation programmes with multiple delivery partners or vendors (advantageous)
• Cloud-based delivery environments (advantageous)
