Job summary

MBIE is seeking a Programme Coordinator to support the Building System Performance branch in Wellington or Christchurch. You will assist the Manager and teams with coordination, documentation, and stakeholder engagement, helping ensure timely delivery of branch priorities.

The role suits a proactive self-starter with strong admin, organisational, and coordination skills, dedicated to improving processes and delivering great outcomes for Government partners.

  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Teams, Planner and Visio.
  • An understanding of government processes, systems, and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor shared mailboxes and coordinate responses.
  • Maintain the SharePoint site and documentation.
  • Coordinate travel and events for the team.
  • Organise workshops and meetings and take minutes.
  • Process contracts, invoices and accruals.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes.

About the Role

Tēnei tūranga: The Programme Coordinator is a key member of the Programme and Business Support team within the Building System Performance (BSP) branch.

We're looking for a superstar to provide high-quality support to the Manager, people leaders, and teams across the branch. This role is ideal for a proactive self-starter with strong administrative, organisational, and coordination skills who enjoys helping others succeed.

As a Programme Coordinator, you'll play an important role in supporting the smooth and effective operation of the branch. Your responsibilities will include monitoring shared mailboxes, maintaining our SharePoint site, preparing documentation, coordinating travel and events, organising workshops and meetings, taking minutes, and processing contracts, invoices, and accruals.

We're looking for someone who is not only highly capable in these areas but is also motivated to identify opportunities for improvement, streamline processes, and make things work better for our people and stakeholders.
