Job summary

SibsmaJobs is seeking a New Zealand registered physiotherapist to provide district-wide professional leadership and governance for physiotherapy. The role focuses on quality practice, new models of care, and workforce development to improve outcomes.

You will empower colleagues to deliver evidence-based services and promote equity of health for Māori, while collaborating with Allied Health Directors and partners to enhance efficiency and patient safety across the district.

• You will be accountable for district-wide, physiotherapy professional leadership
• You will lead excellence in professional governance, quality practice and professional conduct, contributing to new models of care and workforce planning/development for your profession
• You will empower the physiotherapists to deliver contemporary evidence-based health and disability services; provide equity of health provision for Māori; improve and promote health of the population; investigate and report on health-related issues to achieve positive health outcomes
• You will provide advice to and collaborate with the Directors of Allied Health and operational management partners to promote efficiency, productivity, and patient safety

Professional Leaders are to provide the following for their relevant discipline:

• Strategic thinking to enable innovation and creativity in your profession
• Optimise interprofessional models of care
• Enable intersectoral collaboration and/or clinical partnerships
• Oversee the credentialling of profession-specific workforce to ensure that competencies are maintained in accordance with relevant legislation
• Advise and consult on profession-specific workforce development, skill mix and career pathways
• Establish opportunities for participation and leadership experience for specific discipline experts

You will be a self-motivated person with effective communication skills to a wide range of stakeholders. You will have commitment to and enthusiasm for your profession, excellent group facilitation skills and a history of a collaborative team approach.

You must be a New Zealand registered physiotherapist and be a member of your national professional body. It is essential that you have advanced practitioner level experience.

This position will involve some travel throughout the district it is therefore essential that you have a full, clean driver's licence.

Utu whānui - Salary range

This role belongs to the PSA/DHBs Allied, Public Health and Technical Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and falls between $114,000 p.a and $119,000 pro rata of the Degree-Based Allied, Public Health and Technical scale.
