GIB Plasterboard, a Fletcher Building brand, is seeking experienced Production Operators for the Tauriko board plant in Tauranga. This high‑volume, safety‑led role will involve hands‑on leadership of a manufacturing team and daily supervision of line performance.
You will report to the Production Manager, lead ~10 direct reports, and drive product quality, supply and customer service while promoting health and safety across shifts, including 12‑hour day/night rotations.

GIB® Plasterboard is a household name in New Zealand construction, and a part of Fletcher Building. For almost 100 years, we’ve been helping build healthier, more sustainable homes with two manufacturing plants in Tauranga and Christchurch and distribution facilities across the country. We are currently looking for reliable, practical and safety-conscious Production Operators to join our manufacturing team in the Board Plant at our Tauriko plant -a high-volume, safety-led manufacturing environment where teamwork and reliability matter.
The Role
Our manufacturing plant involves highly automated manufacturing lines, combining advanced machinery, process control systems, and real-time quality monitoring on a continuous line. Reporting to the Production Manager, this role will see you lead all production activities through effective leadership of ~10 direct reports. This is a hands-on role that will require a combination of line supervision and day-to-day tasks to meet performance targets and objectives, product quality and supply and customer service targets whilst fostering a strong culture of health and safety.
Hours of work: This role runs on a rotating day and night shift pattern working three to four 12-hour shifts between Monday to Friday. Occasional Saturday work may be required; Sundays are always free. Rosters are planned well in advance and shared evenly across the team.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have at least 5 years’ experience in a technical manufacturing environment coupled with people leadership accountability. In addition to this you will have;
