Job summary

Sensient Technologies New Zealand is seeking a dynamic Production Scheduler to balance supply and demand and keep the production floor moving smoothly. You will generate, schedule, and track Work Orders, collaborating with Production, Purchasing, Quality, Warehouse, and Customer Service, 5 days a week onsite.

Reporting to the Planning Manager, you will analyze MRP messages, troubleshoot issues, and support forecast loading and special projects to improve efficiency and production flow in a food

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional-level work experience that showcases your analytical mindset.
• Hands-on experience navigating MRP systems; JD Edwards Enterprise experience is a plus.
• Background in Food Manufacturing processes is highly preferred; understanding production flow.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise between multiple departments and keep everyone aligned.

Responsibilities

• Master the Flow: daily retrieval and analysis of MRP messages to keep inventory and production aligned.
• Own the Schedule: generate, schedule, and track Work Orders for clear build timing.
• Keep Teams Connected: collaborate with Production, Purchasing, Quality, Warehouse, and Customer Service to resolve bottlenecks.
• Problem-Solve on the Fly: troubleshoot MRP messages with Planning Manager to keep data accurate.
• Drive Efficiency: identify opportunities for product rework with Quality and R&D.
• Support the Big Picture: load forecasts and participate in special planning projects as needed.

We are looking for a dynamic Production Scheduler to join our team. Reporting directly to the Planning Manager, you will be the heartbeat of our operations—balancing supply and demand, turning raw data into actionable plans, and keeping our production floor moving smoothly.

As a key member of the Sensient team, you will be required to push boundaries and innovate onsite in the office, 5 days per week.

What you will do:

• Master the Flow: Daily retrieval, analysis, and resolution of MRP messages to keep our inventory and production perfectly aligned.
• Own the Schedule: Generate, schedule, and track Work Orders, ensuring every team member knows exactly what needs to be built and when.
• Keep Teams Connected: Work hand-in-hand with Production, Purchasing, Quality, Warehouse, and Customer Service to communicate manufacture dates and resolve bottlenecks.
• Problem-Solve on the Fly: Partner closely with the Planning Manager to troubleshoot errant MRP messages and keep the system accurate.
• Drive Efficiency: Collaborate with Quality and R&D teams to identify, validate, and action opportunities for product rework.
• Support the Big Picture: Lend your expertise to the wider planning team by loading forecasts and taking on special projects on an as-needed basis.

What you will bring:

• Education & Experience: A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional-level work experience that showcases your analytical mindset.
• Tech Savvy: Hands-on experience navigating MRP systems. (If you have JD Edwards Enterprise experience, that’s a huge plus—but if not, we’ll teach you!)
• Industry Insight: A background or interest in Food Manufacturing processes is highly preferred, helping you understand the unique flow of our production floor.
• Collaborative Spirit: Excellent communication skills to seamlessly liaise between multiple departments and keep everyone marching to the same beat.
