Job summary

Responsibilities

Are you passionate about quality, apparel production and making sure things are done right?

We’re looking for a Production & QA Coordinator to join our team and play an important role in ensuring our apparel meets Farmers’ quality and compliance standards.

Reporting to the Garment Technician & Production Manager, you’ll help coordinate and track pre-production and production activity, work closely with suppliers, and make sure products meet the required quality standards and cargo-ready dates.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working across quality assurance, production coordination and supplier relationships in a fast-paced retail environment.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be responsible for:

• Checking samples, labelling and packaging and raising any quality or compliance concerns
• Performing AQL inspections on problem stock as required
• Checking stock against legislative standards and product requirements
• Checking barcodes and SKUs through SAP
• Liaising with suppliers to help ensure quality apparel products are delivered to the required standards
• Maintaining and updating the Apparel QAC Tracker to ensure production status and workflow information is accurate
• Tracking multiple styles, orders and suppliers and identifying potential delays
• Escalating production delays, quality issues and non-conformances to the relevant teams
• Reporting on production progress, outputs and issues
• Building strong relationships with internal teams, suppliers and laboratories
• Supporting a positive team environment and contributing to continuous improvement

What you’ll bring

To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have:

• 3+ years’ experience in quality assurance, garment/apparel production or a similar coordination role, preferably within retail or manufacturing
• Working knowledge of AQL inspection methodology and quality/compliance standards
• Understanding of product safety, labelling requirements and relevant NZ legislation
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with production tracking and quality inspection systems
• Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• The ability to manage multiple styles, orders and suppliers at the same time
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Confidence building relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• A positive attitude and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment

A qualification or certificate in textiles, fashion, business or a related field would be an advantage.
