Job summary

Carter Holt Harvey in Kawerau, NZ, invites applications for a Primary Planner based at the Kawerau Sawmill. You will report to the Timber Planning Manager and coordinate timber resources to meet operational goals, ensuring smooth material flow across the supply chain.

The role is a Monday to Friday, 40-hour week with opportunities to optimise production plans and drive continuous improvement within the site.

Qualifications

• Experience in planning roles, preferably timber.
• Proficient with MS Office; SAP or Business Central experience beneficial.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in NZ and pass pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Timber Planning Manager to develop and execute the Master Production Schedule.
• Develop, distribute and monitor daily/weekly plans for Drymills and Production Orders.
• Support inventory management to optimise stock rotation and working capital.
• Manage supply chain and sales relationships with National Supply Chain team.
• Monitor reporting metrics and identify trends.
• Produce compliance reports and flag site issues.
• Respond to production variations and escalate when needed.
• Participate in weekly/monthly production meetings.
• Identify opportunities for fibre usage and cost efficiency.

Job description

Carter Holt Harvey (CHH) are looking for a detailorientated and proactive Primary Planner, based at our Kawerau Sawmill. Reporting to the Timber Planning Manager, you will be responsible for planningand coordinating the allocation of timber resources to meet our operational andcommercial objectives. This is a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth andefficient flow of materials through our supply chain.

This is a Monday to Friday position, 40 hoursper week.

Therole:

• Collaborate with theTimber Planning Manager to develop and execute the Master Production Schedule
• Develop, distributeand monitor the daily and weekly plans for the Drymills, and the associated ProductionOrders
• Support inventorymanagement to ensure optimal stock rotation, working capital and stocktakeaccuracy
• Manage supply chainand sales relationships, including supporting the National Supply Chain teamand resolving issues
• Monitorreporting metrics and identify trends
• Producecompliance reports and identify potential site issues
• Respond to andescalate production variations as needed
• Participate in weeklyand monthly production meetings
• Identify opportunitiesfor continuous improvement in fibre usage and cost efficiency
• Ensure all operations complywith site health and safety standards

Aboutyou:

You will have relevantexperience in a planning position, preferably in Timber but we are open toother industry experience

• Preferably you willhold a logistics-related qualification
• Experience with SAP orBusiness Central
• Proficient in MicrosoftOffice Suite (intermediate to advanced level)
• Strong analytical andlogical thinking skills
• Demonstratedexperience in continuous improvement initiatives
• Previous experience intimber manufacturing and/or logistics is advantageous
