Job summary

Rakon Limited in Auckland, New Zealand, is seeking Production Operators to join our manufacturing team on AM, PM or overnight shifts. The roles operate on a 5-day roster across 7 days and involve working in a cleanroom environment, with hands-on tasks across production lines.

You will operate and monitor equipment, inspect components under microscopes, perform quality checks, and contribute to etching, plating, wire bonding and computer-based production activities.

Rakon is a global high-technology company, a New Zealand success story, and a world leader in its field. We design and manufacture advanced frequency control and timing solutions used in telecommunications, global positioning, aerospace, and defence applications.

We're looking for Production Operators to join our manufacturing team on either our AM shift (7:00am - 3:30pm), PM shift (3:30pm - 12:00am) or GY shift (12:00am - 7:00am). These roles operate on a 5-day roster across 7 days and include weekend work.

Working in a cleanroom environment, you'll play an important role in the manufacture of precision electronic components. Your day-to-day tasks may include operating and monitoring equipment, inspecting components under microscopes, conducting quality checks, performing etching and plating processes, wire bonding, and completing computer-based production activities.

This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work, has strong attention to detail, and enjoys working as part of a collaborative, high-performing team.

We'd love to hear from people who have:

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment, ideally within a technical or electronics-based industry
• Experience working in a cleanroom environment (preferred but not essential)
• The ability to read and follow detailed work instructions in English
• Excellent attention to detail and strong fine motor skills
• Good time management skills and a reliable attendance record
• Strong numeracy and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
• Basic computer literacy
