Job description

Role Purpose

The Product Manager Pacific is responsible for developing and managing the product portfolio across Pacific Island markets, ensuring the right products, brands and commercial programmes are in place to deliver revenue growth, gross margin improvement, customer value and sustainable market performance.

Working closely with suppliers, customers, Sales, Operations, Logistics, Finance and Marketing teams, the role owns product lifecycle activity from ranging and launch planning through to go-to-market readiness, forecasting, promotional activity, inventory optimisation, clearance programmes and market exit.

As a commercially minded and entrepreneurial operator, the Product Manager Pacific will use market insights, supplier relationships and product expertise to identify growth opportunities, introduce innovation, strengthen customer partnerships and improve overall portfolio performance.

Key Accountabilities
Product Strategy and Portfolio Planning
  • Develop and execute product and brand plans aligned with the financial and strategic objectives.
  • Monitor customer, supplier, market and competitive trends to inform product roadmaps and portfolio decisions.
  • Identify product opportunities that increase revenue, gross margin, customer value and market share.
  • Prepare and present product plans, performance updates and commercial recommendations to senior leadership.
Product Portfolio and Lifecycle Management
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of nominated brands and products, from identification and launch through to market exit.
  • Manage ranging, product launch, promotional planning, sell-through activity and in-market lifecycle performance.
  • Drive inventory optimisation, clearance programmes and cashflow improvement initiatives across the product portfolio.
  • Ensure product plans support innovation, customer satisfaction, margin growth and sustainable commercial outcomes.
Supplier and Vendor Management
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with nominated suppliers, vendors and brand partners.
  • Work with suppliers to secure product availability, launch support, market insights, pricing and promotional opportunities.
  • Attend relevant supplier conferences, roadshows and events where commercial value can be demonstrated.
  • Represent professionally with suppliers, customers and market partners.
Commercial Performance and Forecasting
  • Deliver agreed portfolio revenue, gross margin, inventory, cashflow and product performance outcomes.
  • Manage pricing, margin, forecasting, budget inputs and performance reporting for nominated products and brands.
  • Use data and insights to identify risks, opportunities, anomalies and actions required to improve performance.
  • Support investment cases, promotional programmes and commercial recommendations with clear financial analysis.
Customer and Market Development
  • Work with Sales and key customers to identify product ranging, adoption, sell-through and growth opportunities.
  • Develop a strong understanding of Pacific Island customer needs, value drivers and market dynamics.
  • Provide product and market insights that support customer engagement, supplier discussions and business planning.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce innovation and higher value-added solutions that strengthen customer partnerships.
Cross-Functional Collaboration, Governance and Risk
  • Work closely with Sales, Operations, Logistics, Finance, Marketing, Product and Leadership teams to deliver product and customer outcomes.
  • Support robust product governance, reporting, documentation and decision-making processes.
  • Ensure product-related rebates, discounts, claims, credits and commercial arrangements are managed appropriately.
  • Identify, manage and escape product, supplier, inventory, compliance and commercial risks in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to a high-performance, customer-focused culture through collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years' experience in product management, category management, commercial management or supplier/vendor management, ideally within consumer electronics, telecommunications, distribution or a related sector.
  • Experience working with Pacific Island markets, customers, suppliers or distribution channels is preferred.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including pricing, margin management, forecasting, inventory optimisation, promotional planning and investment analysis.
  • Proven ability to manage product lifecycle activity, supplier relationships and cross-functional execution.
  • Strong analytical capability, with the ability to use data to generate insights, recommendations and commercial actions.
  • Confident communicator with strong presentation, planning, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Sisense, Pronto or similar reporting and ERP systems is preferred.
  • Preferred: relevant business, commerce, marketing, supply chain or related qualification.
