Randstad New Zealand is recruiting a Product Manager for a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Auckland CBD. You will own the Business Cards portfolio, driving growth, pricing, and lifecycle management across cross-functional squads in a banking/fintech setting.

You will lead product strategy, governance, and customer journey initiatives while ensuring regulatory alignment and delivering competitive features for the market.

The Company

Partnering directly with major retail banks, commercial financial institutions, and corporate enterprises, they deliver end-to-end commercial strategy, operational modernisation, and portfolio optimisation.

The Role

As a Product Manager (12-Month Fixed-Term Contract), you will take full accountability for the performance, commercial growth, and operational management of the Business Cards portfolio. Working across matrixed banking squads and supported by the broader fintech advisory team, you will drive product optimisation, streamline operational workflows, and implement competitive features that address evolving commercial market demands.

Key Responsibilities

• Portfolio & Commercial Ownership: Driving overall growth, revenue generation, and product profitability across the commercial cards suite, encompassing proposition design, fee structures, pricing, and volume targets.
• Product Strategy & Roadmap Delivery: Developing and executing actionable product roadmaps that solve real business banking friction points while hitting clear commercial milestones.
• Commercial Analytics & Performance: Tracking portfolio performance through commercial, financial, and competitive data analysis to uncover expansion opportunities and resolve underperformance.
• Cross-Functional Execution: Leading multi-disciplinary squads—spanning bank operations, technology, credit risk, compliance, finance, and marketing to take product enhancements from concept to launch.
• Governance & Regulatory Assurance: Managing end-to-end product compliance, risk frameworks, internal controls, and documentation in strict alignment with enterprise and local banking regulations.
• Customer Journey Optimisation: Translating customer research, business banking feedback, and market movements into compelling digital customer journeys, driving client acquisition and long-term retention.
• Subject Matter Leadership: Serving as the central SME on business card products, upskilling frontline teams and sharing industry best practice across the client organisation.

Key Requirements

• Experience: Proven commercial product management background in banking or payments, including hands‑on ownership across the full lifecycle of an active credit or commercial card product.
• Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated proficiency in portfolio economics, product pricing, and business case formulation within financial services.
• Banking Navigation & Stakeholder Skills: High comfort navigating complex enterprise bank hierarchies, legacy core banking environments, and matrixed delivery squads.
• Risk & Compliance Management: Deep understanding of product governance, credit risk awareness, and banking regulatory standards.
• Approach: A pragmatic, delivery-focused operator who is comfortable getting into operational details to fix process bottlenecks and champion the end‑user experience.
• Additional Skills (Preferred): Prior exposure to SME/Business Banking products, corporate expense management platforms, or consultancy/embedded client engagements.

This role is a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Auckland CBD, operating on a hybrid rhythm (minimum 3 days in office per week).
