Jora New Zealand is seeking a scientist to support development of health and nutraceutical products from concept to commercialisation in a GMP environment. You'll gain hands-on exposure to formulation, lab trials, manufacturing and technical projects alongside experienced professionals.

This is an exciting opportunity to support the development of innovative health and nutraceutical products from concept through to commercialisation. You'll work alongside experienced professionals and gain hands‑on exposure to product formulation, laboratory trials, manufacturing, and technical projects in a fast‑paced GMP environment.
Support product development projects from formulation through to commercialisation, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to a high standard
Assist with product formulation, laboratory trials, pilot batches, and technical evaluations
Provide technical support to production teams by assisting with formulation and manufacturing‑related issues
Work closely with Sales, Production, Quality, Regulatory and other internal teams to successfully commercialise new products
Prepare technical documentation, manufacturing procedures, trial reports, and project records
Conduct material and product testing to ensure products meet customer specifications and regulatory requirements
Prepare laboratory samples and customer samples while maintaining accurate records
Operate and maintain laboratory and pilot plant equipment
Maintain R&D laboratory records, including sample registers and trial batch documentation
Assist with raw material and packaging evaluations, product specifications, stability studies, packaging specifications, and label reviews
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Food Science, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, or another relevant science discipline
Recent graduates or candidates with up to two years' relevant industry experience
A genuine interest in product development, formulation, and technical innovation
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with excellent attention to detail
Good written and verbal communication skills
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
A proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work effectively within a collaborative team
Experience in a pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food manufacturing or laboratory environment is advantageous but not essential
