Job summary

Phytomed Medicinal Herbs Ltd in Avondale, North Island, seeks a Manufacturing Technician to support the production of herbal medicines in a GMP environment at our Avondale facility. You will operate and maintain various production equipment, ensuring products meet high quality standards in a clean, controlled setting.

This hands-on, full-time role reports to the Production Manager and offers on-the-job training, opportunities for growth, and a collaborative, safety-focused workplace.

About the Role

As a Manufacturing Technician at Phytomed, you’ll play a key role in manufacturing our range of premium medicinal herb products. You’ll be responsible for operating and maintaining various production equipment, ensuring products are processed to a high standard in a clean, GMP-compliant environment.

This is a hands-on, full-time position reporting to the Production Manager and based at our Avondale facility in Auckland.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Operating and monitoring production equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations

• Performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting equipment to minimize downtime

• Following production recipes and SOPs accurately to ensure product consistency

• Conducting in-process quality checks and identifying any issues early

• Maintaining detailed production records and batch documentation

• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the production team

• Complying with all health, safety, and environmental regulations

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in a GMP manufacturing, production, or technical environment (preferred)

• Mechanical aptitude and practical skills for working with equipment

• High attention to detail and commitment to product quality and workplace safety

• Good communication and problem-solving skills

• Team player with a flexible attitude and willingness to learn new processes

• Physically fit and able to follow procedures accurately
