Job summary

Qualifications

  • Five+ years in procurement, preferably building products or construction supply

  • Knowledge of international logistics, freight, customs, and supply chain risk
  • Confident communicator with analytical and reporting abilities

Responsibilities

  • Lead international procurement activity across construction products
  • Manage offshore supplier relationships and identify new offshore partners
  • Oversee sourcing, tendering, pricing, contract negotiations, and commercial agreements

This newly created position offers an experienced procurement professional the opportunity to take ownership of international sourcing, strengthen established supplier partnerships, and develop new supply channels across global markets.

About the Role:

As Procurement Manager, you will lead procurement activity across a wide range of construction and building products. You will manage and strengthen existing offshore supplier relationships while identifying new manufacturing and trade partnerships that improve commercial performance, product quality, and supply chain resilience.
Working closely with Regional Managers, Project Managers, senior leaders, finance, logistics partners, and international suppliers, you will oversee the complete procurement process, from sourcing and negotiation through to product testing, compliance, freight coordination, and delivery into New Zealand.
This is an autonomous position requiring strong commercial judgement, cultural awareness, and the confidence to establish trusted relationships across diverse international markets.

Skills and Experience:
  • At least five years of procurement experience, ideally within building products, construction supply, manufacturing, or merchant environments
  • Proven experience managing offshore suppliers and developing international sourcing relationships
  • Strong commercial negotiation, strategic sourcing, contract management, and supplier evaluation capability
  • Practical knowledge of international logistics, freight, customs, product testing, and supply chain risk
  • Confident communication, analytical, reporting, relationship management, and cross cultural collaboration skills
  • A current passport and willingness to travel internationally, with additional language capability advantageous but not essential
