Job summary

All Trades Contract Services is recruiting a Sheetmetal Worker for a fixed-term role based at the Hawkes Bay Workshop, with project work in Taupo. You will fabricate and install metal cladding and insulation on industrial pipework, vessels, tanks and ducting using aluminium, stainless steel and galvanised sheet.

The position offers an hourly rate of $35.00, a minimum of 30 hours per week, and a contract through to 30th July 2027.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years relevant experience.
• Fabrication and installation of sheet metal cladding and insulation.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Study blueprints and specs to determine material needs.
• Select metal stock and check dimensions against specs.
• Cut, form and fit metal stock; weld, rivet or solder components.
• Fabricate and install sheet metal cladding and insulation onsite.

Job Description

All Trades Contract Services are looking for skilled Sheet Metal Workers to join our team to work with our client on a fixed term contract, based in their Hawkes Bay Workshop with project work in Taupo

About the role:

This hands-on role is responsible for fabricating and installing metal cladding and insulation on industrial pipework, vessels, tanks and ducting. You will work mainly with aluminium, stainless steel and galvanised sheet, forming and fitting cladding components by hand to protect underlying insulation and plant.

• Hourly Rateof $35.00 per hour
• Fixed Term Contract until 30th July 2027.
• Minimum guranteed 30 hours per week.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Studying blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job material and equipment requirements.
• Selecting metal stock, such as stainless steel, galvanised iron, mild steel, aluminium and copper, and checking sizes, gauges and other dimensions of metal stock against specifications.
• Marking out metal stock with reference points and lines using templates, gauges and other measuring instruments.
• Cutting metal stock along guidelines and drills.
• Shaping and forming cut metal stock into products using folding and bending machines, rollers, presses and hammers.
• Fitting and assembling components into final products by welding, riveting, soldering, brazing and otherwise joining.
• Finishing products by polishing, filing and sanding, and cleaning assembled products and components.
• Fabrication and onsite assembly and installation of sheet metalcladding and insulation on industrial pipework, vessels, tanks and ducting.
