Job summary

ACC is seeking a Process Engineering Lead to establish and mature the process engineering capability across ACC in Wellington. You will design and optimise end-to-end processes, leveraging data and intelligent automation to improve customer outcomes, efficiency, quality and compliance.

As a senior practitioner and leader, you will build frameworks, governance and performance measures, coach others, and influence across business and technology while ensuring safety and value for New Zealand

Qualifications

• Minimum five years' experience in process engineering, improvement or redesign in large, complex organisations.
• Strong knowledge of end-to-end process design, performance measurement and systems thinking.
• Experience enabling intelligent automation (workflow, RPA, AI-enabled solutions).
• Ability to establish and scale process engineering capability, frameworks and governance.
• Proven change and continuous improvement delivery with measurable value.
• Strong stakeholder engagement across business and technology, with or without formal authority.
• Clear communication, translating complex concepts for diverse audiences.
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi in policy and process design.
• Must hold New Zealand work rights at application time.

About the role | Mō te tūranga mahi

As Process Engineering Lead, you will establish, lead and mature process engineering capability across ACC. You will design, improve and optimise end-to-end business and operational processes, using process redesign, data and intelligent automation to improve customer outcomes, efficiency, quality and compliance. As a senior practitioner and capability leader, you will build frameworks, standards, governance and performance measures while coaching others and influencing across business and technology. Your work will help create scalable, measurable and automation-ready processes, contributing to keeping Kiwis safe at work, at home, and everywhere in between.

The appointing salary for this role is $126,101 - $152,430 based on experience. ACC offers a comprehensive benefits package which at present includes an advantageous superannuation scheme (9% contribution) with features like no mandatory employee contribution, optional life and income protection insurance.

About you | Mōu

You will bring:

• A minimum of five years' experience in process engineering, process improvement or operational redesign within large, complex organisations
• Strong knowledge of systems thinking, end-to-end process design, process optimisation and performance measurement
• Demonstrated experience enabling or working alongside intelligent automation, such as workflow automation, robotic process automation, decision automation or AI-enabled solutions
• Proven ability to establish and scale process engineering capability, standards, frameworks and governance models
• Experience leading change and continuous improvement initiatives that deliver measurable business and customer value
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across business and technology, including the ability to lead without formal authority
• Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts for diverse audiences
• An organised, proactive and collaborative approach, supported by a strong learning and customer-centred mindset
• Proven application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in the design of policies, systems and processes
• Sound understanding and demonstrated leadership in the application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
• You must hold New Zealand work rights at the time of application.
