Job summary

Visy Glass Auckland is seeking a Process Engineer for a full-time permanent position on a rotating 12-hour shift pattern (2 days/2 nights, 4 days off). The role is primarily sole charge in the Batch and Furnace area, reporting to the Batch and Furnace Manager.

You’ll run the Batch House, operate 3 furnaces, and monitor plant services after hours, handling breakdowns with strong problem-solving skills. You will be trained on equipment and control systems, while adapting to multiple operating

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years’ post-trade experience in manufacturing.
• Demonstrated fault-finding and diagnostics abilities.
• Ability to work under urgency and pressure while maintaining high standards.
• Willingness to work overtime and be on-call.

Responsibilities

• Control and operate batching from Batch House to Furnace.
• Operate furnaces and maintain housekeeping around furnaces.
• Monitor plant services after hours and weekends for breakdowns.
• Assist with colour-change responsibilities and night-shift colour checks.
• Attend breakdowns and perform problem solving; request help when required.
• Communicate with internal support and external agencies (e.g., fire department, Auckland Council).
• Ensure adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental policies at all times.
