Job summary

Oceania Dairy Limited is seeking a Process Controller for our Glenavy dairy powder operation. You will be responsible for keeping the plant running safely and meeting quality and volume targets across your shift, from milk reception to packing and storage.

The role involves hands-on control across the production area, collaboration with a cross-functional team, and potential development to cover multiple positions.

Qualifications

• Strong computer skills and a solid understanding of safety and quality.
• Dairy manufacturing experience, particularly powder production, is preferred but not essential.
• Candidates from other manufacturing/food production backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Take day-to-day control of the production area across your shift, ensuring safety, quality and volume targets.
• Cover milk reception, process setup, monitor plant activity, sampling and data recording, and packing/storage.

A bit about the role

As a Process Controller at Oceania Dairy, you're the person who keeps our plant moving. You'll take day-to-day control of the production area across your shift, making sure we hit our quality and volume targets safely and without missing a beat. It's a hands-on role covering milk reception, process set up, monitoring plant activity, sampling, data recording, and packing and storage.

You'll work shoulder to shoulder with your shift team, Production Supervisors, the Process Manager, and our Maintenance, Quality, Lab and Stores teams. Together you'll keep production flowing and look for ways to do it better. You'll also help identify your own development needs, so you can build the skills to cover a range of positions across the shift.

We have both permanent and fixed-term positions available. The roles are full time on a rostered shift pattern of 42.875 hours per week, Monday to Sunday, based at our Glenavy site and reporting to a Production Supervisor.

A bit about you

You're a team player who's happy to multitask and pitch in wherever you're needed. You communicate openly and honestly, you're keen to keep learning, and you stay calm and methodical when problems come up. You manage your time well, motivate yourself, and build strong working relationships with the people around you.

You'll bring strong computer skills and a solid understanding of safety and quality. Experience in dairy manufacturing, particularly powder production, and a dairy manufacturing qualification are great, but they're preferred, not essential.
