Job summary

Canstaff is seeking a Senior Process Technician based at our Canterbury manufacturing plant to operate our highly automated Dryer and transform milk and ingredients into value-added products.

You will deliver processing requirements, solve plant problems, perform routine inspections and maintain documentation while upholding safety and quality standards. This role requires proactive problem solving, strong technical knowledge and effective communication in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a dryer or similar process equipment in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong problem solving and fault-finding abilities to diagnose issues quickly.
• Ability to optimise processes to improve efficiency and product quality.

Responsibilities

• Operate critical manufacturing equipment within designed running parameters.
• Ensure products are manufactured in-spec and right first time.
• Maintain a high-quality manufacturing environment and documentation practices.
• Investigate production, safety and quality issues to identify root causes.

We're on the lookout for a Senior Process Technician who will be able to bring their experience and knowledge. Based at our Canterbury manufacturing plant, you will operate our highly automated Dryer to transform milk and ingredients into value-added products.You will be accountable for delivering production processing requirements as well as undertaking plant and process problem solving, cleaning, plant walks and inspections.

The main responsibilities of this role include:

• Operation of critical manufacturing equipment within designed running parameters
• Ensuring all our products are manufactured in-spec and right first time
• Keeping the manufacturing environment to a high-quality standard
• Keep to good documentation practices
• Able to investigate Production, safety and quality issues to root cause
• An understanding of IWS principles
• Good time management and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication skills, motivated and a willingness to learn

Key to your success will be your proactive response to delivering processing requirements and your ability to problem solve.

Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will have previous dryer operating experience with strong technical knowledge. You will be capable of troubleshooting mechanical issues, while optimizing efficiency and product quality.
