Job summary

KPMG New Zealand is seeking a Private Enterprise Graduate to support privately owned businesses and individuals. You’ll gain exposure across tax, accounting, advisory, and business development within a collaborative national network.

As a graduate, you’ll work with startups to mature firms, assisting in planning, compliance, and operational improvements while developing skills valued by Chartered Accountancy pathways.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree majoring in Accounting or Finance
• Strong collaborative and communication skills
• Willingness to learn accounting software and processes

Responsibilities

• Financial preparation: prepare tax returns, GST/FBT, and respond to IRD queries.
• Reconcile ledgers, analyse financial data, and prepare statements.
• Management accounting: assist with income projections and investment research.
• Support and secondment: assist senior staff on larger assignments and manage trusts/partnerships.
• Client management: respond to queries, identify opportunities, and maintain relationships.
• Business development: build client relationships and stay informed on market trends.
