Job summary

KPMG New Zealand in Auckland is seeking a Private Enterprise Graduate to support privately owned businesses across their lifecycle—from startup to growth and expansion. You’ll apply accounting, tax, and advisory skills to deliver practical, value-added solutions for clients while building trusted relationships.

As part of the Graduate program, you’ll join the national network, participate in induction weeks, Graduate Camp, and Boost!

Qualifications

• Working towards a degree majoring in Accounting or Finance, or another major that meets Chartered Accountancy prerequisites.
• Demonstrates strong communication and relationship-building skills with clients.
• Proactive, adaptable and eager to contribute to proposals and business development.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tax returns, GST/FBT returns, and respond to IRD queries with accuracy.
• Reconcile ledgers, analyse financial data, and prepare statements.
• Assist with income projections and research for business investment decisions.
• Support senior staff on larger assignments and manage trusts and partnerships.
• Respond to client queries, identify value-added opportunities, and maintain relationships.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and stay informed on business trends.
• Contribute to the Graduate development programme and learning new accounting software.
