Job summary

Avalon School, Wellington, is seeking a Principal to lead a well-resourced school and drive strategic direction that benefits students, whānau and the wider community.

You will champion inclusive education, develop next strategic plans with the Board, and lead Avalon's Middle School provision for students with special needs. A strong, collaborative leadership team and community partnerships are essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead a truly inclusive school, where every learner is known, valued and supported to succeed, and where children, whānau and staff genuinely thrive.
• Shape the future of a successful school, leading the development of Avalon School's next Strategic Plan alongside the Board, staff and community.
• Lead one of the region's most distinctive specialist provisions, with Avalon's highly regarded Middle School providing special needs education.
• Work alongside exceptional people, including a dedicated and collaborative staff, a supportive Board, and students you will love working with.
• Champion excellence in teaching and learning, you’ll lead a culture of continuous improvement, professional growth and evidence-informed practice.
• Make a genuine and lasting difference by strengthening learning, building strong whānau partnerships, and helping remove barriers to success for all learners.
