Arvion Services in Wellington, NZ is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to drive complex engineering initiatives and shape architecture for a global fintech platform. The role combines hands-on coding with technical leadership across teams to modernize large-scale payment platforms.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with Product, Design, Compliance, and Engineering, and champion AI-powered development practices while delivering production-grade services and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years delivering production software end-to-end in modern stacks.
• Strong frontend skills with Vue.js/React or similar.
• Deep knowledge of C#/.NET and microservices architectures.
• Experience with AWS and CI/CD in cloud-native environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex technical initiatives across the full tech stack.
• Define standards, architecture decisions and best practices.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews and guidance.
• Contribute production-grade code for critical systems.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Compliance, and Engineering.
• Drive modernization to cloud-native architectures and AI tools usage.
• Improve system scalability, performance, and operational excellence.
