Job summary

Turakina School is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced educator to join as a Principal Release Teacher for the senior class Years 4–8. This part-time (0.6 FTTE) permanent role could start Term 4 or in 2027, and requires NZ registration and knowledge of NZC English and Maths & Statistics, with a focus on structured literacy and collaborative teaching.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and highly collaborative educator to join our team as the Principal Release Teacher teaching the senior class Years 4-8. This is a part‑time (0.6 FTTE) permanent position, ideally starting at the beginning of Term 4 although we are very happy to consider the successful applicant starting at the beginning of the 2027 school year.

• Is an experienced, NZ registered teacher with developing understanding of the NZC English and Mathematics & Statistics curriculum areas and knowledge and experience teaching structured literacy.
• Has a proven track record of teaching and planning collaboratively
• Builds strong, positive relationships with senior students, helping them grow in independence and agency.
• Understands the importance of partnership and maintains open, warm communication with our wonderful whānau and staff.
