Job summary

South Makirikiri School invites an innovative and enthusiastic Certificated teacher to join our rural team. The role will be in a composite class for Years 4–8 and requires adaptability to motivate learners and connect with the local community.

We value collaboration, strong literacy and numeracy teaching, and the ability to contribute to school life and extracurricular activities. Start date by negotiation, with January 2027 as an option.

Qualifications

• NZ Certificated teacher (teaching certificate) required.
• Experience delivering Literacy and Numeracy across primary/intermediate levels preferred.
• Ability to apply a localised curriculum to enhance student learning.

We are looking for an innovative and enthusiastic teacher to join our team. We are looking for a teacher who can motivate, stimulate and adapt their teaching for each learner.

Our school is comprised of composite classrooms so please indicate which levels are your strengths. The role will be in one of our composite classes in Years 4-8.

We have a wonderful school environment with fabulous resources, enabling teachers and learners to flourish. We want to see our students as active contributors in our local community, through being out in our wider community learning. The ideal candidate is flexible and passionate about connecting with our wider community and whenua.
