Job summary

Xe.com is seeking a Principal Frontend Engineer to lead the user-facing side of our cross-border payments platform in New Zealand. You will own architecture, mentor teammates, and deliver polished interfaces with Vue 3+ and TypeScript.

The role welcomes engineers comfortable with React/Angular to switch to Vue and values payments/regulated-industry experience. Collaboration with designers and stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building production software.
• Proficiency in Vue (3+), or strong experience in other frontend frameworks with intent to switch to Vue.
• Strong knowledge of TypeScript and clean-code practices.
• Experience mentoring developers on best practices and code quality.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain frontend applications using Vue 3+ and TypeScript.
• Architect scalable frontend solutions with clean code practices.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and uphold high standards.
• Mentor developers on architecture and best practices.
• Style and build responsive interfaces with Tailwind CSS, HTML5 and CSS3.
• Write unit and integration tests with Vitest.
• Use Vite for modern build tooling.
• Collaborate with designers to translate UX/UI into UI.
• Partner with engineers in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Leverage AI coding tools to improve productivity.
• Communicate clearly with engineers and stakeholders.
