Job summary

Generate is seeking a Tech Lead to balance leadership with hands-on backend and full-stack work. You will guide the Platform Squad, drive the technical roadmap, and ensure high-quality delivery of web and mobile applications using Vue, Nuxt, Node.js, and AWS.

You will collaborate with Design and Product, manage incidents, and mentor team members while scaling secure, efficient APIs and robust systems. The role is based in Auckland CBD and requires strong leadership and communication.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or relevant field.
• 7+ years of software development experience with front-end and back-end tech.
• 2+ years in leadership or management role.
• Experience with agile methodologies and Jira.
• Experience in developing, deploying, and maintaining web/mobile apps.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Squad to deliver high-quality software products.
• Provide technical guidance and drive delivery with Product and cross-functional squads.
• Own and improve platform architectures and APIs.
• Oversee incident management and production support with a service mindset.
• Lead code reviews, document changes, and ensure quality practices.
