Job summary

Compass Group New Zealand is seeking a Chef de Partie for Emirates Lounge at Auckland Airport to lead breakfast service, cook high-quality dishes, and help set a premium lounge standard. The role requires flexibility to work on a casual, as-and-when basis.

This position offers NZ residents or those with valid NZ work rights the chance to contribute to an exceptional guest experience while working with a skilled kitchen team.

Qualifications

• NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Cookery or equivalent.
• Experience cooking in a similar hospitality or lounge environment.
• NZQA Food Handling Certificate (Units 167 & 168).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and in a team.
• Flexible, reliable, and physically fit with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items including meat, seafood, vegetables, and plated dishes.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene and food safety standards, including cleaning and waste handling.
• Receive, store, and rotate supplies, ensuring stock levels are maintained.
• Develop menus to meet dietary and cultural needs, and apply catering control principles.
• Coach team members and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing kitchen team.
