Job summary

Kinetic Recruitment in Papakura, New Zealand, is seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join an established engineering environment. You will help plan and coordinate engineering and fabrication projects from planning through to delivery, working with clients, engineers, workshop teams and suppliers to support project documentation, QA processes and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or relevant engineering qualification.
  • Open to graduate engineers, newly qualified engineers, or candidates with project engineering experience.
  • Strong understanding of engineering processes and systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive attitude with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Interest or experience in engineering and fabrication environments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and coordinating engineering and fabrication projects.
  • Review technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Support workshop and site teams throughout project delivery.
  • Coordinate with clients, engineers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Monitor project progress, costs, timelines, and quality requirements.
  • Assist with procurement, subcontractor coordination, and project variations.
  • Support QA documentation and compliance processes.

We're looking for a motivated Project Engineer to join a well-established engineering company based in Papakura. This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate, newly qualified engineer, or someone with project engineering experience to be involved in managing engineering and fabrication projects from planning through to delivery.

You'll work closely with clients, engineers, workshop teams, and suppliers, supporting project coordination, technical documentation, quality processes, and project delivery. This role provides excellent exposure across engineering, fabrication, and commercial operations while continuing to develop your project engineering skills.
