Job summary

The Lines Company is seeking a Line Mechanic for the Taumarunui Depot to support a reliable electricity supply. You’ll report to the Field Operations Supervisor and contribute to a hands-on Service Delivery Team responsible for network integrity and fault response.

The role requires a NZQA Level 4 distribution line mechanic certification and an EWRB license, plus a Class 1 (Class 2 preferred) driver’s licence. Local residency is essential for rapid fault response.

Qualifications

• Experience with 230V, 400V, 11kV and 33kV overhead lines and underground cables.
• Full class 1 driver licence, preference for class 2
• 33 kV distribution network experience
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently or in a team
• Strong commitment to health & safety and quality service

Responsibilities

• Network fault finding and repair.
• Network maintenance for 230V, 400V, 11kV and 33kV lines and underground cables.
• Operation and switching activities.
• New electrical reticulation construction.
