Job summary

Farmhands in Methven, New Zealand, is seeking a potato grader for a short-term project. The role starts 24 August and runs until late September or early October, approximately one month, with 30–40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm, near Methven.

No experience is required; training is provided, and you will stand for the entire shift while sorting potatoes on conveyors. The work environment is dusty, the shed is not heated, and you may be asked to perform some heavy lifting up to 20 kg.

Job description

We have vacancies for Potato Graders in Methven. No previous experience is required! Start ASAP.

• We have a single vacancy for 1 potato grader only.


• $27 per hour + 8% holiday pay.


• Start 24 August. Finish Late Sept/Early Oct


• Approximately 1 month of work

• Monday to Friday


• 8am - 5pm (approx)


• 30-40 hours per week


• Work close to Methven

The work environment is very dusty. Applicants must not be allergic to dust.

The shed is not heated, the working temperature matches the outdoor temperature

You are required to stand for the whole shift.

You will work on conveyor belts, removing bad potatoes and grading as required. There may be some heavy lifting work of potato bags, up to 20kg.

Training is provided, no experience required.
