The Postgraduate Applied Data Analytics Lecturer is a part-time position (0.8 FTE, 28.8 hours per week) based in Auckland for the period 5 July 2027 to 17 December 2027,

The appointing salary for this role will be between $86,000 and $100,000 (pro-rated to FTE), dependent on skills and experience.

The Postgraduate Data Analytics Lecturer reports to the Head of School and will be responsible for:

• Developing and updating postgraduate curriculum and course materials.


• Delivering engaging learning experiences across face-to-face, online, and blended modes.


• Assessing student performance and providing timely, constructive feedback.


• Supervising postgraduate research projects and dissertations.


• Supporting student wellbeing and academic success.


• Participating in research, scholarship, and industry engagement activities.


• Maintaining accurate academic and student records.


• Undertaking moderation and quality assurance activities.


• Building effective relationships with industry, community, and academic stakeholders.


• Contributing to programme planning, continuous improvement, and School initiatives.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• A postgraduate qualification in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.


• Experience in applied data analytics, data science, business analytics, or a related professional field.


• Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, machine learning, data visualisation, databases, and applied analytics.


• Demonstrated ability to teach and engage learners at postgraduate level.


• Experience designing and developing curriculum and learning resources.


• Proficiency with tools and technologies such as Python, R, SQL, Power BI, and learning management systems.


• Experience supervising applied research projects or postgraduate student work.


• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.


• Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
