Job summary

EIT invites applications for a full-time permanent Postgraduate Data Analytics Lecturer based in Auckland. You will deliver high-quality postgraduate teaching, supervise research, and connect with industry partners to support student success.

The role reports to the Head of School and requires developing curriculum, engaging learners across modes, and contributing to scholarship and community engagement.

Qualifications

• A postgraduate qualification in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Experience in applied data analytics, data science, business analytics, or a related professional field.
• Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, machine learning, data visualisation, databases, and applied analytics.
• Demonstrated ability to teach and engage learners at postgraduate level.
• Experience designing and developing curriculum and learning resources.
• Proficiency with tools and technologies such as Python, R, SQL, Power BI, and LMS.
• Experience supervising applied research projects or postgraduate student work.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Developing and updating postgraduate curriculum and course materials.
• Delivering engaging learning experiences across face-to-face, online, and blended modes.
• Assessing student performance and providing timely, constructive feedback.
• Supervising postgraduate research projects and dissertations.
• Supporting student wellbeing and academic success.
• Participating in research, scholarship, and industry engagement activities.
• Maintaining accurate academic and student records.
• Undertaking moderation and quality assurance activities.
• Building relationships with industry, community, and academic stakeholders.
• Contributing to programme planning and School initiatives.
