Job summary

Electric Kiwi, a NZ-based tech-driven energy and digital services company, is seeking a Technical Solutions Engineer to help evolve our platform and improve the software delivery lifecycle. You will stay hands-on while shaping platform architecture and engineering strategy.

This role involves solution design, prototyping, and building internal tools, with a focus on API-first platforms and AI-driven automation. Hybrid work with 3 days in the office and permanent NZ rights are required.

Qualifications

Experience designing software in modern cloud-based environments.
Understanding of microservices, APIs and distributed systems.
Strong coding skills in Python and/or TypeScript.
Hands-on experience building prototypes, internal tools or automation.
Experience with AWS and modern engineering workflows.
Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with AI-assisted engineering and SDLC automation.

Responsibilities

Design practical technology solutions for platform and product initiatives within established architecture patterns.
Build proof-of-concepts, prototypes, and internal tools to test ideas and approaches.
Evolve microservices and API-first platform and improve delivery of technology.
Explore AI and automation to strengthen the SDLC and identify opportunities.
Work with stakeholders to translate problems into workable technical approaches.
Experiment with new technologies to improve speed, stability, automation and quality.
