Job summary

Propellerhead is seeking a seasoned Technical Strategist in Auckland to lead the design of complex, AI‑assisted software platforms for enterprise clients. You will shape technical direction, guide engineering teams, and align client platforms with our standards.

You will work with Chief Technologist and Engineering Principal to implement standards and tooling, balancing hands‑on development with strategic oversight in a hybrid office setting.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience with the development of multi-tier and distributed applications.
• Agentic-first: very comfortable using AI to prototype and direct an AI-assisted delivery pipeline across requirements, testing and code generation.
• A confident, credible communicator for senior client stakeholders.
• Experience with React UIs and services in C#, plus familiarity with Typescript, Java, Go, and Rust.
• Strong communication bridging technical solutions with business needs.

Responsibilities

• Authoring, reviewing, and communicating solution architecture and specifications with Development teams and Engineering.
• Championing Propellerhead's technical strategy across portfolio designs.
• Building trusted relationships with client decision-makers and explaining design to client technologists.
• Be the go-to technical person for client solutions and facilitate prerequisites for delivery.
• Developing strategies to ensure speed, security, reliability, maintainability, and performance.
• Facilitating the evolution of code bases (C# to Rust) and AI-assisted tooling.
