Job summary

Insight Recruitment – Auckland, North Island is partnering with a leading manufacturer of technical components to recruit an experienced Plastics Technician/Diesetter. The role focuses on troubleshooting and providing technical support on the night shift (4 days per week, Mon–Thu, 9:00 pm–7:00 am) and involves tool changeovers and robot setup in a clean, safety‑conscious environment.

You will start up and set modern 400t moulding machines, support junior setters, and drive quality, process

Qualifications

• Trade or diploma as Plastics Technician.
• Experience starting up and setting 400t moulding machines.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support on the night shift for junior setters and colleagues.
• Focus on quality, process optimisation and safety for the shift of 4–6 operators.
• Complete tool changeovers and set up 3 axis robots in a clean, safe workspace.
• Contribute to 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.

A trade/diploma qualified Plastics Technicianwith the ability to start up and set modern 400t moulding machines.

Afternoon Shift - Mon to Friday (4.00-12.00pm)

This is a hands-on position running modern electric machines where you will be required to complete tool changeovers and set up 3 axis robots in a pristine work space.

You will be an experiencedqualified plastic injection Technician/Diesetterwho is competent to troubleshoot equipment and process issues and can adjust machine parameters .

Maintaining a harmonious work environment, problem-solving, and getting to the root cause of production issues are key to the success of this position.
