Jora New Zealand is seeking a skilled Plasma Operator to join a leading steel plate processing team in Tauranga. The role involves operating plasma cutting machines, handling profiling equipment, and interpreting engineering drawings to meet job specifications.

You will work with a reliable, safety-focused team in a well-established company offering ongoing training and opportunities for career growth within New Zealand's steel processing industry.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating plasma cutting machines.
• Solid understanding of warehousing and machine operations.
• Experience using overhead gantry cranes (advantageous).
• Forklift licence (preferred but not essential).
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow precise instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate Laser/Plasma cutting machines.
• Configure and operate K4000 metallizer or similar profiling equipment.
• Identify, pick, bevel, and drill steel materials as per job specifications.
• Maintain machine performance and troubleshoot minor issues.
• Load and unload materials using overhead gantry cranes.
• Perform machine setup and pre-start checks.
• Accurately interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures.
• Perform general housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe work area.
