Job summary

Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Te Toka Tumai Auckland is seeking a reliable Therapy Aide to join our team. You will assist therapists with daily operations, prepare treatment spaces, and support clients before, during and after sessions.

The role involves helping with positioning, mobility, and basic rehabilitation activities, following the supervising therapist’s plans. You will maintain records and ensure clean, safe therapy environments in line with health and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 4 NZQA qualification in Health & Wellbeing.
• Experience in therapy or therapeutic support is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist therapists with delivery of planned therapy programmes and basic therapeutic treatments.
• Provide direct assistance and support to clients before, during and after therapy sessions.
• Assist clients with positioning, movement and mobility during treatments and exercises.
• Prepare treatment areas, equipment, towels, linens and materials for sessions.
• Assist with basic therapeutic and rehabilitation activities within training and delegated responsibilities.
• Follow therapy plans and instructions from supervising therapist.
• Observe client responses and report changes or concerns to the supervising therapist.
• Maintain client treatment records as directed by the therapist.
• Clean, sanitise and prepare therapy equipment and areas per infection-control procedures.
• Provide practical assistance to therapists to support safe and effective therapy delivery.

Therapy Aide

We are looking for a reliable and motivated Therapy Aide to join our team. The successful candidate will assist our therapists with daily operations, client preparation, treatment room organisation, and general therapy support to ensure clients receive professional and comfortable services.

• Assist therapists with the delivery of planned therapy programmes and basic therapeutic treatments according to the therapist’s instructions.
• Provide direct assistance and support to clients before, during and after therapy sessions.
• Assist clients with positioning, movement and mobility as required during therapeutic treatments and exercises.
• Prepare treatment areas, therapy equipment, towels, linens and other materials required for therapy sessions.
• Assist the therapist with basic therapeutic and rehabilitation activities within the aide’s training and delegated responsibilities.
• Follow individual therapy plans and instructions established by the supervising therapist.
• Observe clients’ responses during and following therapy and promptly report changes, discomfort, concerns or other relevant observations to the supervising therapist.
• Maintain appropriate client treatment records and document relevant information as directed by the therapist.
• Clean, sanitise and prepare therapy equipment and treatment areas in accordance with infection-control and workplace health-and-safety procedures.
• Provide direct practical assistance to therapists to support the safe and effective delivery of therapy services.
