Job summary

Teradyne, through Quantifi Photonics in Auckland, seeks a Hardware Engineer to design, develop, integrate, and validate electronic hardware for advanced photonics test and measurement systems.

You will apply analogue, digital, and embedded design skills from requirements through prototype bring-up to production release, collaborating with Systems, Firmware, Software, Mechanical, and Production teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of industry experience designing, developing, or testing electronic hardware.
• Experience with analogue, digital, mixed-signal, and/or power electronics design and verification.
• Proficiency with Altium Designer including schematic capture and PCB layout for manufacturability.
• Hands-on lab experience with hardware bring-up, debugging, and fault isolation.
• Experience scripting test sequences in Python or MATLAB for automation and data collection.
• Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and C/C++ programming.
• Version-control experience (Git or SVN).
• Strong analytical, documentation, and cross-functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own design and development of electronic circuits, PCBs, and hardware modules for photonics test systems.
• Translate requirements into hardware specifications, design decisions, and test plans.
• Perform schematic capture, component selection, design reviews, and prototype bring-up.
