Job summary

Quantifi Photonics, part of Teradyne, seeks a Senior Hardware Engineer in New Zealand to design and deliver advanced optical and electronic hardware for high-performance test instruments. You will work across analogue, digital, embedded, RF, microwave, and signal acquisition subsystems, guiding architecture, verification, and production release.

You will lead hands-on design, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across disciplines to ensure robust, manufacturable products meeting customer

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's/PhD in Electrical or related field required.
• Significant hardware product design experience and development.
• Experience with analogue, digital, embedded, RF or high-speed systems.
• Hands-on lab skills with oscilloscopes, VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, meters.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and documentation abilities.
• Ability to communicate trade-offs clearly and work autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop analogue, digital, embedded, RF, microwave hardware and PCB assemblies.
• Define architectures, designs, verification plans and validation criteria.
• Schematic capture, PCB layout oversight, BOM creation, bring-up and testing.
• Develop prototypes and evaluate new technologies for photonics test instruments.
• Perform signal integrity and RF/high-frequency analysis; correlate with measurements.
