Placements24 is seeking a Process Development Engineer for a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer in Queenstown. You will develop, optimize, and scale up chemical processes for pharmaceutical intermediates, ensuring safety, reproducibility, and strict adherence to cGMP standards.

The role requires a strong background in organic chemistry and chemical engineering, with hands-on experience in development, scale-up, and validation. Competitive team environment with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or Organic Chemistry.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in process development or chemical engineering within pharma.
• Strong knowledge of organic synthesis, kinetics, and process engineering.
• Experience with scale-up and validation in pharmaceutical or fine chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize synthesis routes for pharmaceutical intermediates.
• Conduct lab experiments and pilot trials to assess parameters and scalability.
• Perform PHAs and implement safety measures for manufactur ing processes.
• Create detailed process descriptions, P&IDs, and SOPs.
• Validate processes to meet cGMP requirements.
• Troubleshoot issues during development, scale-up, and production.
• Collaborate with R&D, QA, regulatory, and manufacturing teams.
• Analyze process data, generate reports, and present findings.
• Ensure compliance with cGMP, environmental, and safety regs.
